January 15, 2012. An opening ceremony highlighted by local ethnic performances kick-started the local carnival which boasts a full schedule of competitions including horse racing, archery, Mongolian wrestling and camel-sleigh racing. The East Ujimqin Banner borders Mongolia to the north and is home to the Ujimqin prairie, a key tourism destination within the region.
