The park is located in Shangri-la County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Nasi Dingzhu, director of the Shangri-la Scenic Spot Development Company, said that there are snowy mountains, glaciers, pagodas, grazing grounds, lakes, and Tibetan villages in his scenic spot.
He added that all these compose the "Shangri-la" pursued by the people.
The company will also enable the tourists to appreciate the unique folk cultures in addition to natural beauty.
Nasi said, "My company employs 120 people, mostly locals including me. Through tourism development, we will let the locals know that our folk songs and dances, and even the trees and rivers are our tourist resources."
The prefecture is expected to receive five million domestic tourists in 2010, with a tourist revenue of five billion yuan RMB.
Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture has spent four billion yuan RMB on its tourist transportation and scenic spots since 2005.
