Jade Spring Park is also called Heilong Tan Park in chinese. It was originally built in 1737. There is a spring under a chestnut tree at the foot of Elephant Mountain. It flows day and night and forms a big pond with a total area of 40,000 square meters (about 10 acres), which is called Heilong Tanzania. The spring water is as clear as jade. The water in the pond is warm in cold winter, but cool in hot summer. Above the surface of the pond there is always white vapor flowing in winter, which makes you feel like you are in a fairyland.
It provides a haven for bird and water-life, with spectacular plants around. Surrounding the pool, within the park's landscape, there are ancient monuments worthy visiting, such as the Longshen Temple, the Deyue Pavilion, the Suocui Bridge and the Hanyue Stage. Whichever monument you choose to visit will be a real change from your daily routine of going to work and playing online casino or whatever it is you do to unwind. The natural beauty of it will really take your breathe away and make you really appreciate the great outdoors.
The Longshen Temple is the centre-piece . It consists of a gate-house with two wings and a great hall. 'Longshen' means Dragon God in Chinese, the God in charge of Rain in Chinese mythology. The temple was built in 1737, during Emperor Qianlong's reign , and was titled 'Longshen' by the Emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1911).
